Director of Rowing

Commencing September 2017

£30,000 to £35,000 dependent upon experience

Full Time

We require an outstanding practitioner to lead our rowing programme commencing September 2017 who can provide expertise in coaching, manage a substantial rowing programme and lead a team of coaches. The Director of Rowing will take our existing rowing programme to new heights building upon current success to achieve outstanding results on the water. 

Bedford Girls’ School has an exceptional reputation for sport and our P.E Department aim for excellence across all disciplines. The successful candidate will need to be passionate about rowing and be able to inspire students to share that passion and dedication to achieve their best.   

Based on the banks of the River Ouse, Bedford Girls’ School offers excellent rowing facilities and has a history of rowing success with crews winning at national and regional level. 

The successful candidate should hold a recognised British Rowing coaching qualification with a proven track record as a rower and/or coach.

This role will require significant flexibility in approach and willingness to coach students outside of normal school hours, including weekends and holidays, throughout the year.

Head Rowing Coach

Full Time

We are seeking to appoint a Head Rowing Coach, who will work closely with a newly appointment Director of Rowing, to further develop rowing at Bedford Girls’ School. The Head Rowing Coach will aim to inspire rowers at all levels to develop a love of rowing and to strive to achieve outstanding results on the water.

The successful candidate will be part of our excellent P.E Department and will be responsible, along with the Director of Rowing, to develop our team of professional rowing coaches in order to take the Rowing Department to new heights.

Drama Theatre and Events Technician

Commencing as soon as possible

£19,000 to £20,500 per annum, full time

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our flourishing and rapidly growing Drama and Dance department as our Drama Theatre and Events Technician.

The successful candidate will be a vital member of our team who prides themselves on providing high level technical support, with a particular focus on lighting and sound, to contribute to the artistically varied and creatively bold programmes of co-curricular and curricular productions. Applicants should therefore have knowledge and proven expertise in lighting and sound and ideally current digital systems.

Technical experience of working in a theatrical or events environment are essential.
