Whole School Music

Bedford Girls’ School once again enjoyed a hugely successful Bedford Festival of Music, Speech and Drama.

Held throughout last week at Bedford Corn Exchange, BGS entered a wealth of girls into numerous music and speech and drama categories, ranging from reading to musical theatre.

The Bedfordshire Festival is well regarded in the local area, having been founded in 1921, and providing a showcase for talent in the amateur performing arts in the county.

There was plenty of talent on show from BGS. For speech and drama, more than 100 girls finished in the top three, in categories such as Jane Austen reading and verse speaking.

For music, 26 top three finishes in music, including 12 category wins, ranging from solo singing to modern piano.

A number of girls also performed at the Gala performance on Saturday evening (11th March), wowing parents with a wonderful show.

A special mention goes to Eva Berman, who won a glut of categories, including Most Promising Performer.
