Year 4 Challenge Grafham Water

Junior School Trips and Excursions

On Wednesday 3rd May, Year 4 departed on a three-day water crusade to Grafham Water in Huntingdon. Read the summary below of all their activities:

After much anticipation we arrived at Grafham Water, with the girls ready to tackle all the challenges planned for them. The first major challenge was to make their own bed. The girls helped each other, and occasionally needed an adult to help, but by nightfall everyone had completed this task.

The activities - sailing, canoeing, climbing, archery, bushcraft and orienteering, provided many opportunities for the girls to face their fears and push themselves with the support of their peers.

The instructors whizzed to the rescue when the boats capsized and kept everyone’s spirits up despite the cold wind. After each session the girls were encouraged to reflect on their involvement and praise those who conquered their fears. Every single girl showed she is a risk-taker and arrived home with fantastic memories, and not a small amount of washing!
