Active Euthanasia Debate

“Millie Sutton and I undertook a heated debate, regarding the controversial topic of Active Euthanasia, under the motion: This house believes Active Euthanasia should be legalised within the UK.

After speeches from the proposition the debate was opened to the floor and the audience asked a number of questions ranging from whether psychopaths should be euthanised, to the deeper ethical, religious, pragmatic and alternative arguments surrounding the sensitive topic, all of which we answered.

Thankfully, we were well prepared. With strong points from the opposition there was a moment where we felt our hard work could potentially be in jeopardy, but we were assured our work had paid off when an almost unanimous vote for the motion was cast (yes, that means we won).

Millie and I are in agreement that this was an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience and we wouldn't hesitate to take part in another.”
