Art and Technology

On Wednesday evening guests of the BGS and wider community were invited to our annual Art and Technology Exhibition - which showcased the creative talents of our Years 9 – Sixth Form pupils from Art, Design Technology, Food Technology and Textiles.

All the guests were welcomed with drinks and a selection of delicious canapés next to a wonderful display of homemade tea-lights, created by the Year 7 Design and Technology pupils, you can view a video of their creation here.

There were vast amounts of Art and Technology creations beautifully displayed, from wonderful and elaborate dresses to visual projections with sound. The Food Technology department pupils were demonstrating their delicate cake-making skills – worthy of Great British Bake Off entries! All the girls and staff worked extremely hard and should be very proud.

Imogen Marchant, Lower Sixth Student and Arts Captain, adds: "It was a fantastic and successful evening with music played by Kat Reilly and Millie Nelson. I was so in awe of the level of commitment and diversity of talent demonstrated across the school, both by the girls and the staff”.

Mrs Lugsden, Head of Art and Technology, adds: “It was wonderful to see such a diverse range of work from girls at BGS, from stunningly presented food to intricate jewellery, and creative textiles work to engaging art. All the work on show was of an exceptionally high standard and parents, girls and staff had a real treat”.

Couldn't make the exhibition? You can view photos of the event on our Flickr gallery here.
