Bedford Girls’ School is delighted to announce another set of impressive International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results for 2017.

The average score (out of a maximum of 45 points) for the BGS 2016/2017 cohort was 37.3, which far exceeded the worldwide average of 30 points. Nearly a third of the Higher Level papers achieved a Grade 7, the equivalent of an A*, whilst 95.6% of all Standard Level papers recorded an equivalent of an A* to B.

Four students achieved a score of 40 points or above, out of a possible 45. Three students have secured a place to medical school, whilst their peers are accepting places at leading universities.

Miss Jo MacKenzie, Headmistress of Bedford Girls’ School, said: “These are outstanding results, and have been achieved while the girls sustained a full commitment to school life and the arts, and sportswomen found the time to represent country, county and school.

“The results reflect the level of hard work and dedication from the students who have learnt to work independently and have embedded a wide range of skills through the study of the IB Diploma. Our results continue to go from strength to strength as Bedford Girls’ School builds its reputation as an IB World School.”
