Preparing for Year 7

Junior School

Mrs Inkson (Head of Year 6)

It has been a pleasure to welcome our new Year 6s into the Junior School this week. They are already enjoying being the eldest in the Junior School! Year 6 have hit the ground running this week and have already experienced a number of new and exciting lessons in the Senior School, including Design & Technology, Ceramics, Textiles, Food Tech, Science and Modern Foreign Languages. We find that introducing more lessons taught by specialist Senior School staff really prepares the girls for the transition to Year 7.

Here are a few things the girls had to say about their experiences so far:

Matilda and Amelia: “I like doing some lessons in the Senior School as it will get me used to it ready for Year 7.  When we are in Year 7 we will know where all the rooms are and lots of the teachers.”

Maia: “The lessons we have had so far have been really exciting.”

Jasmine: “It’s fun to experience something new that isn’t like the lessons we have had before in the Junior School.”

Poppy: “I like the Senior School lessons as we are learning new subjects and it is getting us ready for the Senior School.”

Siya: “I am excited about Science as we are going to be doing experiments about forensics!”
