This week, the build up to BGS House Talent 2021 began in earnest with auditions from Years 3 to Year 11. First up were Year 9, who auditioned in front of their year group and form tutors in their year school assembly. Everyone was a little reticent to begin with but after Asha Kirkpatrick from Nightingale, stepped up to play the piano and sing Adele’s When We Were Young, there was no looking back. There was a wonderful mix of dance, vocal solo’s and two group dances to Christmas songs to get us all into the Christmas spirit. The Years 7 and 8 auditions were full of surprises opening with a gymnastic routine followed by songs and magic tricks.

The Junior School had put in their entries remotely and the strongest 16 were chosen to perform their audition live in front of a junior school audience. What a talented and confident group they were. The audience really enjoyed it and we cannot wait to finish off the final five Junior School auditions next Wednesday.

Today it was the turn of the Year 10s to take to the stage. The lunchtime audience enjoyed some powerful but sensitive renditions of musical theatre numbers and a trumpet solo to raise the roof.

On Monday, the Sixth Form provide the finale in terms of Senior School auditions. The finalists will then be selected to be part of a pre-recorded final shown in the last week of term where we will find out which House has won the House Talent Competition of 2021

Points for entries so far:
