Whole School IB

We are extremely pleased to announce an outstanding set of IB Diploma results for our 2022 cohort.

Our students have performed extremely well achieving an average score of 40 points (against a worldwide average of 29), including a student who achieved an exceptional 44 points out of a possible maximum 45 points.

The students have all been accepted onto a course of their choice, ranging from Chemistry and Medicine to Hispanic Studies and Economics, and including a candidate who achieved her place to study Law at Oxford.

BGS Headmistress, Mrs Gibson said: “I am so proud of these students, they missed the opportunity to take GCSE examinations, their Lower Sixth was significantly marred by the impact of COVID but they have continued to work hard, commit to the rigour and discipline of the IB Diploma Programme and come out not only with excellent results but with the intellect and skills to be the change makers of tomorrow; I have no doubt that they will make a difference to the world around them and I wish them great success with the next stage of their education.

“I am sure you will join me to congratulate them all. I would like to thank all of the teachers and the wider team at BGS for supporting, guiding and mentoring them through their Sixth Form studies, to ensure that they were well prepared to achieve their very best.”

It was particularly pertinent that we received these outstanding results during the experiential IB learning day, where students across the Senior School engaged with the IB philosophy and its approaches to teaching and learning through a range of fun and engaging activities. We hope these results will inspire students to choose the IB when they reach the Sixth Form.”
