Senior School Rowing

Miss Huckle (Head Rowing Coach)

On Sunday 9th October, over 50 students represented BGS rowing in our first race of the 2022/23 season!

With perfect conditions, blue sky and flat water, and lots of support lining the banks of the River Ouse, we had an exciting day ahead.

All of our rowers put in some fantastic performances racing in singles, doubles and quads throughout the day. 27 of our Years 10 to Upper Sixth rowers competed in single sculls for the very first time, a fantastic accomplishment, showing the great confidence that all of our rowers are gaining each week.

Our results were a pleasing start to the season too, with a number of top three places across events entered. A special mention to Aimee King (Year 13) who won her event, and to Jess Wiggs (Year 11) who was the fastest BGS sculler of the day!

We now look forward to our October half-term training and our next race at Henley Sculls on Saturday 5th November.
