By Mrs Howard (Year 6 Teacher)

On Friday 12th May, Year 6 enjoyed an engaging visit from A-Life to raise awareness, and teach them all about how to be safe around Alcohol and Drugs.

The girls had the opportunity to try on beer goggles including catching a ball and finding your keys with them on, playing bamboozled with Jelly Bellies, but most importantly asking questions. There were some hard truths and real stories to highlight the severity of the subject which helped to contextualise information. The girls handed the information in a mature and sensitive manner

Hiyra Rizvi (6BR) reflected: “I found it interesting to find out what happens to your body when you smoke, the effect of the drug and the choices we can make about this.”

Emily Smith (6I) said: “I like how real examples were used as it made it more real to us.”

Noorie Sibia (6CS) added: “It has warned us about the consequences and if we get offered anything illegal, then just say no.”
