Last Monday, the Year 5 students were lucky enough to visit the Warner Bros. Studio Tour to learn all about the magical world of Harry Potter, and experience first-hand the expertise that goes into making these incredible films.

The day began with anticipation and excitement as we arrived at the studios. As we stepped through the iconic doors of the Great Hall, we were transported into the magical world of Hogwarts. Being surrounded by the costumes, props and incredible hanging lanterns really was something special.

The highlight of the trip for the girls was undoubtedly the chance to explore the actual sets used in the Harry Potter films. They were spellbound as they roamed through the intricately designed corridors of Hogwarts Castle, taking in the grandeur and attention to detail that brought J.K. Rowling's world to life. From Dumbledore's office to the common rooms of Gryffindor and Slytherin, every step revealed new wonders.

The Forbidden Forest was an incredible experience, with spiders larger than many of the Year 5’s! The girls braved the dark to travel through the forest and experience the many magical creatures within.  It was a truly memorable trip, with great memories formed and a fantastic opportunity to explore the wide variety of careers involved in the film-making industry.

Coco (Year 5) reflected: “It was fun and exciting, we got to see a lot of what happened behind the scenes of the films and I loved seeing the wigs and work of the make-up artists.”

Tiana (Year 5) added: “It was a really fun and magical experience, sometimes it felt unreal. My favourite part was the Forbidden Forest because the lighting was fantastic and I loved the displays.”

Beatrice (Year 5) said: “I really liked it, it was a bit scary to start with but it was so fun in the end. I was amazed how many candles were hanging from the ceiling in the great hall and I loved seeing Dumbledore’s phoenix.”
