Junior School Sport

The Bedford International Athletics Stadium was filled with vibrant rainbow colours as enthusiastic crowds cheered on their Houses. Oh, how we relished these sunny days! Thursday 6th July marked yet another colourful Junior School Sports day, where the BGS community gathered to witness outstanding performances.

Under perfect weather conditions, the girls participated in more events than ever before, showcasing excellent techniques in the long jump and rounders ball throw. Two records were shattered on that day: Imogen Murphy (Year 3) completed the 600m race in an impressive time of 2 minutes and 17 seconds, while Merrin Harris (Year 6) completed the 75m race in just 10.95 seconds.

Congratulations to all the participants of the Junior School program competition. Our four winners, who had their programmes printed, were:

Year 3 - Sakinah Raza (Parks), Year 4 - Sophie Morris (Nightingale), Year 5 - Zoe Vadher (Chanel) and Year 6 - Isabelle Dobson (Austen).

Here are the final standings of the competition:

6th place - Chanel: 900 points

5th place - Parks: 901 points

4th place - Austen: 929 points

3rd place - Franklin: 936 points

2nd place - Nightingale: 960 points

1st place - Hepburn: 1,017 points
