Sixth Form Charity

We couldn't be prouder of inspirational student, Lucy Scott (Lower Sixth), who continues to raise vital funds through various initiatives for the cancer charity Myeloma UK.

Her most recent accomplishment was completing the Three Peaks challenge once again, this time in a quicker time, alongside her father on Saturday 5th August. They managed to complete it in just 9.5 hours, raising just over £400!

Lucy reflected on the experience: “In August, I climbed the Yorkshire Three Peaks to continue raising funds for Myeloma UK. Myeloma is a rare blood cancer and Myeloma UK is the only charity that specifically aids myeloma patients and their families while also conducting important medical research.

“I began fundraising in 2018 after our family friend, Richard, passed away just before his 50th birthday. The route covers 24 miles and includes an ascent of 1585 metres. I completed the challenge in 9 and a half hours, and I am thankful for all the support I have received. It is great to know that there has been a recent breakthrough in myeloma treatment.”

So far, Lucy has raised a staggering £3,175, surpassing her target of £2,000 - an incredible achievement. You can find out more here.

It's truly touching to see our students getting involved and making a meaningful impact in local and national communities, as well as with a wide range of charities.
