After a very successful District competition, two weeks ago at Sharnbrook Academy, we had 11 talented runners qualify to compete for North Bedfordshire at the County Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 7th February at Ampthill Park.

Navigating through a challenging course with hilly terrain and muddy paths, our athletes enjoyed calm spring-like weather. Among the top performers were Pippa Blakemore (Year 7), securing 3rd place, Megan Barnicoat (Year 8), and Jessica Parrish (Year 11), both achieving 4th place finishes. These athletes will represent Bedfordshire at the English School National competition on Saturday 16th March in Pontefract.

Additionally, Bella Holt (Year 10) claimed 9th place, with Rosemary McGregor (Year 10) and Penny Adams (Year 9) securing 12th and 16th positions respectively. They've been granted reserve places in the Bedfordshire County team.

Junior School pupil Lottie Ayers (Year 6) achieved 21st place, while Anna Trueman (Year 7) and Larissa Brown (Year 8) finished 35th and 38th respectively. Despite a fall, Larissa's perseverance was commendable.

Congratulations to all the athletes for their achievements.
