Sixth Form Sport

It’s been a super sporting week for our Sports Captain, Florence Miller (Upper Sixth), who after a superb season of cricket was awarded the Sunrisers Academy Player of the Year at the Middlesex & Sunrisers 2021 Season Players' Awards. On Sunday, she was awarded Player of the Match in Bedford HC Ladies 1s first win of the season at home to Beeston L2s.

During the summer, Florence scored 365 runs for the Sunrisers Academy, which resulted in a call up to the senior team and being awarded her first senior pay as you play contract. Most recently, she put in fantastic performances with the bat at the 2021 School Games National Finals. Representing Team Knight, Florence hit a half-century, narrowly losing in a close-fought final against Team Sciver.

Florence said: “I was delighted to receive the Academy Player of the Season Award at the Sunrisers and Middlesex Awards day at Lords. The great thing about playing cricket and hockey is that when the cricket season ends, the hockey season begins! I am super excited to see what the hockey season this year brings.”

Many congratulations, Florence!
