We are thrilled to announce that talented footballer, Darcey Griffiths (Year 8), has been offered a place on the Northampton Town FC emerging talent centre as part of the England pathway programme.

The Football Association have now provided funding to set up various Emerging Talent Centres (ETC) across the country and following a trial a few weeks ago, Darcey has been selected to join the ETC where she will benefit from professional coaching, fitness training and have time with dedicated sports psychologists and nutritionists.

Darcey said: “I am so happy my hard work has paid off. I spend so many hours in the car travelling to training at matches and I have really found my home at Northampton Town FC. I now hope to show my talent off at a higher level with the end result of becoming a Lioness.”

Darcey has been playing football since she was 5 years old at grass roots level, she has been successful in gaining places at Arsenal WFC development centre and Northampton Town FC development centre.

Many congratulations, Darcey! We look forward to following your incredible football journey.
