Senior School Charity

By Mrs Simms (Business and Economics Teacher)

On Thursday 21st March, during lunchtime, the Year 8 students set up their stalls, ready for the Junior School girls to arrive. They had been planning and preparing for the Tenner Challenge marketplace for weeks. They had put so much time, dedication, and creativity into their business ideas, and this was all their hard work coming together.

The Tenner Challenge is an engaging National Enterprise Challenge where students are allocated £10 from the Tenner Bank to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey. Within a month, they devise business ideas for products or services, experiencing first-hand the essence of entrepreneurship. While striving to maximise profits, students are also inspired to consider ethical and sustainable practices.

As soon as it was lunchtime, the Junior School came in like a storm, racing to buy the best fidget toy or slime, having glitter tattoos applied, or trying on jewellery and cuddling crochet monsters. The Year 8s were selling out, and the Senior School was yet to be allowed in. They came in and bought the last of their goods in the second half of lunch. To clear out some reduced their prices, and others marketed themselves loudly.

By the end of lunch, everyone looked thoroughly exhausted. Their hard work raised a phenomenal £734.83 for FACES charity. All involved should feel immensely proud of their achievements.
