On Tuesday 2nd May three Bedford Girls’ School pupils took part in the County Schools Handicap Golf Championship at Luton Hoo Golf Course. This was the first year BGS have fielded a team of three golfers in the team event.

We narrowly missed winning the team event, however Emma Brown Lower Sixth (handicap 27) won the Individual girls event with 39 points, this is an outstanding success. Roisin Scanlon Year 4 (handicap 23) showed no nerves in her first event for the school and came in 3rd with a score of 34 points. Team Captain Georgia Staroscik Year 11, played superbly well off a handicap of 6 to come in with 31 points.

If there are any other budding golfers in the school, please make yourselves known to Mrs Bullerwell, as there are many opportunities open to young golfers at various clubs in the county. Please email [email protected]
