Sixth Form

We are delighted to announce that Eloise Taylor (Lower Sixth) has achieved Highly Commended in the New College of Humanities (NCH) Essay Competition.

The global competition is open to students who are currently in their penultimate (second to last) year of secondary education (Lower Sixth in England) and who are interested in studying humanities or social sciences at university.

Eloise said: “The question I chose to answer was ‘How could psychology help in understanding criminal behaviour – does society create criminals?’ I wrote 1500 words and found it a very interesting topic exploring the police systems and nature and nurture sides of the debate. There were around 6000 entries overall and I achieved highly commended, with a medal and certificate coming in the post in the next couple of weeks!”

Mrs Harrold (Head of Psychology) said: “The Psychology department is thrilled that Eloise's hard work and independent learning has been recognised. She has worked with great focus on developing a strong essay style and it is lovely to see how her efforts have borne fruit. She should be very proud of her achievement!”
