Senior School Equestrian

We are thrilled to share summer equestrian accomplishments of two of our talented students, Holly Maudlin (Year 11) and Clover White (Year 8).

Holly Maudlin and her 6-year-old horse, Perdie - Pure Britannia, secured a spot in the prestigious JCB Pony Club National Championships held in Warwickshire. Holly and Perdie achieved this feat by clinching podium positions in their regional competitions in Bucks and Berks.

The JCB Pony Club National Championships is a grand event that brings together over 2,000 riders from across the UK. This 10-day extravaganza took place on 9th-19th August, and saw the best equestrian riders compete on a national stage.

Holly and Perdie proudly represented our school's equestrian club, Ivel Valley, in the PC100 Show Jumping and PC100 Eventing classes. Their performances were nothing short of spectacular, as they clinched victory in both categories, resulting in setting a new Championship record. We're also pleased to announce that Holly and Perdie's success has gained recognition in the equestrian community, with a feature in the recent edition of Horse & Hound magazine. The magazine's editorial included a write-up on Holly and Perdie's remarkable achievements.

Another talented equestrian, Clover White, earned the honour of representing BGS at the National Schools Equestrian Association Grass Roots Show Jumping Championships Festival, which took place at the renowned All England Jumping Course in Hickstead on the 24th August.

Clover showcased her incredible skills by delivering three clear rounds while riding her pony, Stormy Girl. Her performance earned her an impressive 12th place individually out of more than 60 competitors in the challenging 70cm Class. Clover secured the 16th position overall out of over 90 competitors from around the country.

We are incredibly proud of Holly’s and Clover’s accomplishments and look forward to cheering them on and our other equestrians in future competitions.
