Bedford Girls’ School is delighted to announce impressive International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results for 2018.

Once again, the IB Diploma cohort achieved an outstanding average score of 37.3 (out of a maximum of 45 points), which far exceeded the worldwide average of 29.7 points. One third of the candidates obtained 40 points or above. For the third time in five years, one student achieved 45 points, placing her in the top 0.1% of all IB students worldwide.

With a Level 7 being the highest grade possible for an individual subject, over 70% of all papers achieved a Level 6 or 7, with one student achieving an incredible Level 7 for her Higher Level Mathematics.

Miss Jo MacKenzie, Headmistress of Bedford Girls’ School, said: “I am extremely proud of the girls. As the International Baccalaureate celebrates 50 years of delivering a forward thinking educational model, it is exciting to see that Bedford Girls’ School students are fully benefiting from an engaging and challenging course of study. Our students are achieving world-class results, whilst still participating fully in all aspects of school life and giving service.

“With the IB Diploma under their belt, the girls will face the transition to university confidently, where they will further develop their skills and attributes to become the highly versatile graduates that the rapidly changing world is calling out for. I look forward to celebrating their future successes.”
