Portals to the Past, an outside company specialising in KS1 and KS2 History workshops, visited Year 3 yesterday (10th March).

Year 3’s current Enhanced Curriculum is the historically themed Sticks and Stones, and this workshop provided a real hands-on experience.

In the workshop the girls explored the timeline of mankind and the important developments that made us who we are today, as well as handling real fossils.

The session consisted of group investigation where the girls used informative displays, artefacts and got hands-on experience of ancient technology and skills.

The topics covered the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic Period, Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
