Maisy Routh and Eva Berman (Year 5)

On Thursday 21st June, Year 5 were transported back in time to the world of the ancient Greeks.

The Randle Hall was set up as an Ancient Greek market, complete with a temple at the end. The activities in the morning ranged from clay pot making and painting, to making charms, lighting oil lamps and some of us even had to be slaves!  We were all working together to gather and make things so that we could defeat our enemies, the Persian's. Our favourite activity was the medicine stall, where we mixed herbs to create the right cures for different illnesses.

During the afternoon, we were split up into groups and explored the wonders of Ancient Greek theatre. One group created a dance whilst other groups practised acting out short plays of famous Greek Myths. We then performed our pieces to each other and enjoyed a lovely Greek feast, of typically Ancient Greek foods such as cheese, figs, dates, olives and cake – they were all delicious!
