On Monday, students studying French in Years 7-10 welcomed the Onatti Production theatre company, who performed La Salle des Énigmes (The Escape Room).

The play was about two competitive friends who needed to work together to escape an Egyptian-themed secret room with the help of audience members. Locked inside a room they were given a series of riddles, puzzles and clues, which they had to solve to eventually unlock the door and escape the room. They had one hour in which to complete all the puzzles.

Destiny Mateola (Year 8), said: “It was amazing; the play really tested my French knowledge whilst being humorous. My favourite part of the play was when they were completing the first task and asked volunteers to help them, this was great as it let us as students participate and laugh with one another."

“The play was a great experience and really brought the language of French alive; at some points I may not have understood it completely but with the help of my friends, it all became clear.”
