Mr Mason-Mcleod (Head of Hockey)

During the Easter break, some of our Years 6 to 10 hockey players enjoyed one-to-one coaching sessions Great Britain and England hockey player Zoe Shipperley and Development Squad player Lydia Macdonell.

Zoe played for GB and England and played at a World Cup and Commonwealth Games, She plays locally For Buckingham in the Premier National League as a defender. Lydia is a GB Women's Development Squad player, former England Under 21 (Junior World Cup 2016), senior England indoor player and plays for University of Birmingham in the Premier National League as a forward.

Zoe and Lydia passed on their knowledge to help the BGS girls with composure on the ball and decision making in the final third of the hockey pitch. The sessions were a great success and one we are looking to repeat in the October with another International hockey player coming into BGS to coach hockey again.
