The Years 11 and Lower Sixth students headed to London on Thursday with Mrs Howlett (Deputy Head of PE) and Miss Gray (PE Teacher) for a day out in Wimbledon.

With the 2019 competition really starting to heat up, Thursday was a day for round 64 matches featuring tennis stars on Court 1 such as Serena Williams and Roger Federer.  

The group took in a variety of singles matches on No.1 Court, whilst touring the fantastic grounds of Wimbledon and watching some fantastic matches on the big screen.

A highlight for the BGS contingent was watching Andy Murray’s return on Court 1, which began in ideal fashion as the Briton and his doubles partner Pierre-Hugues Herbert thrilled the home fans with a late-night comeback win in the men's doubles.  

And of course, it would not be a Wimbledon experience without strawberries and cream, ice cream, copious amounts of water and sun cream!
