It’s been a fantastic cricket season for sporting sisters Florence (Year 11) and Natasha Miller (Year 9), who have performed exceptionally well in the county circuit.

Natasha had a wonderful season as Captain of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club (NCCC) U13 team and member of the U15 and U17 girls’ squad. Her achievements were recognised at the end of season awards evening where she was presented with the trophy for Best Overall Female Cricketer of 2019. At just 13 years of age, she had scored over 800 runs, including a hundred and five 50s and taken a haul of wickets including 4-27 in an U17 match.

Natasha follows in the footsteps of big sister Florence, who captains the U15 side at NCCC and plays in the U17 and ladies team. Florence also won the same award two years ago and this year was named best batsmen for her side, having also scored over 800 runs including a hundred and five 50s.

Florence’s performance this season has just earnt her a place at the Regional Development Centre (RDC) where she will train with a squad of just 16 cricketers through the winter at the ECB cricket school at Loughborough University. As a regional cricketer, she will play matches against the other five regions in the country, culminating in the RDC festival in July. The best cricketers from this tournament are selected for The School Games and this can be a potential pathway towards the England Women’s Academy.
