Although the lockdown restrictions impacted many sports greatly, this did not deter talented golfer Roisin Scanlon (Year 7), who continued to adapt her game from home.
Roisin reflected: “The lockdown was difficult, but I tried to use the time wisely and developed a daily routine to work on different skills i.e. chipping low, high shots and distance control. I created a lot of games, targets and challenges In order to make it fun. Once lockdown started to ease slightly, I began to practice once again at Woburn Golf Club.”
The practice certainly paid off for Roisin, as she had the opportunity to compete in her first pro tournament, the 2020protour, at Howley Hall Golf Club on Tuesday 30th June. Roisin gained buckets of experience against some of the very best pro junior golfers. Well done, Roisin!
