There’s been a whole host of competitive and fun sports challenges for the Senior and Junior Schools to get involved with. Over the last few Saturday’s, the PE department have been setting the girls challenges to keep them busy whilst lockdown has affected extra-curricular Saturday Sports clubs.
The BGS rowing staff have been doing live fitness sessions for Senior rowers and for those who just want a general workout. Meanwhile, Mrs Mason-Mcleod (Director of Sport) set the Senior and Junior School students a two week Stick and Ball Trick Challenge with the winners below.
Junior School
Winner: Isabelle Smith (Year 3).
Runners- Up: Amelia Rose Aris (Year 4), Lottie Tillson (Year 3).
Senior School
Winner: Holly Smith (Upper Sixth).
Runners-Up: Scarlett Ames (Lower Sixth), Kaila Hill (Year 9).
Special Commendation: Mr Jeffries (Mathematics Teacher).
In addition for the last two Saturday’s both Senior and Junior School students have fitness activities to follow. The Junior School Challenge is called the ‘Olympic Hotspot Challenge’ and comprises of 10 fitness challenges each lasting 60 seconds.

The Senior School students have a range of different fitness activities they can follow this Saturday, ranging from yoga, lacrosse, dry land swimming training and a fitness session with Miss Huckle (Head of Netball) and Mrs Tarrant (PE Teacher). All information is in this link here.
The Senior rowers also have another virtual fitness session on Saturday morning that is open to everyone and you should receive an email with an invitation to join from Miss Bruce (Director of Rowing).
