Leigh-Ann Cudjoe (Head Girl)
After weeks of online learning, we have finally returned to school. Walking into the school grounds after months away has been the most exciting activity I have done over the last couple of weeks, even if the Upper Sixth and I did return to assessments. Nonetheless, seeing the school full of life and energy has reminded me just how important our community spirit is to each of us individually.
Earlier this week we all celebrated International Women’s Day which is the day we celebrate the work of all the women before us who fought for and still fight for equality for all women and shining a light on the injustice’s women face on a daily basis. As we are an all-girls school it is essential that we praise each individual endeavour, as women we are multi-faceted individuals and we should support one another further reach our potentials.
Therefore, thinking about International Women’s Day it is fundamental that we not only take a moment to think about our female role models but to also think about how we can be role models because as young women we are the future and we should strive to continue the legacy of those before to make sure that women are not only celebrated today but every day.
