Mrs Whomsley (Head of Year 5)
Year 5 had an action-packed day with the Year 5 pupils at Bedford Prep School on Thursday 9th June. Pupils spent half of the day at both schools participating in activities to encourage teamwork and collaboration. The day was filled with challenges to build trust and communication including a STEM competition, scavenger hunt and other problem-solving activities to build trust and communication.
It was so fantastic to be able to return to this event and everyone had a brilliant day, making new friends and enjoying the activities. We look forward to being able to organise more events for next year too.
Amrit (5F) said: “I enjoyed the activity day with Bedford Prep School because I liked meeting new people. My favourite activity was the swamp game because there was a lot of teamwork, so we learnt each other’s names. I liked going to the boy’s school, as it was nice seeing the buildings.”
Sasha (5VF) said: “The activity day with Bedford Prep School was a great way to socialise with new people and learn more about another school. When they came over to BGS, we did an obstacle course blind-folded. We were put into partners from the other school and they helped us, they guided us so you had to trust them. It is really good to socialise with different genders so we can see and share different perspectives.”
Lottie (5PW) said: “I really enjoyed doing the games with the boys. We had to work closely together. For one activity we were blind folded so we had to learn to depend on each other.”
Jessica (5W) said: “It was fun spending time with the boys because we got to meet new people and learn about them.”
