Following Holly Tutt’s (Year 11) outstanding at British Schoolgirls’ indoor ski races, where she placed 1st place in the U16 event, the alpine skier finished her summer indoor season on a high at the Eastern Region Champs (ERSA) at Snozone, Milton Keynes.
The talented skier placed 1st U16 in both the slalom and the giant slalom (GS). Holly was also 3rd overall (all age categories) female in the slalom and 2nd overall female in the GS.
Holly said: “I’m really pleased with my results indoors this summer and I was very happy to get reselected for the U16 England Alpine Squad for the winter.”
This winter season Holly will be a member of a new race team, Alpine Performance Racing (APR), based in Valdidentro, just outside Bormio in the Italian Alps. She will be competing in races across Europe in slalom, giant slalom and super-G. Holly begins training during October half term with the first week spent at the largest indoor ski slope in Europe in Landgraaf, The Netherlands followed by a week on the Hintertux glacier in Austria.
Holly has had a successful UK indoor summer season on the podium at all her races. Highlights have been:
· 2nd U16 & 4th Overall (all age categories including U21 & above) in the GBR Series which is the highest level of UK racing.
· 2nd U16 in the English Championships, the Welsh Championships & the British Championships.
· 1st U16 at the Hemel Club National, 1st U16 at the Hemel eastern region race, 1st U16 & 1st Overall at the MK eastern region race.
· 1st U16 & 1st Overall at the British Schoolgirls’ Championships.
We are so proud of Holly’s achievements, she is definitely one to watch for the future!
