Mrs Cruse (Head of Years 7 and 8)

On Monday our Year 8 students enjoyed a day trip to Wells-next-the-Sea for a well-being day.

Despite the rain and wind, the students still had fun. They built incredible sandcastles including one as a turtle to promote an environmental message of keeping our beaches clean and another where there were a number of castles all with spinning windmills on the top.

Students played football, volleyball, cricket and rounders. They enjoyed visiting the rock shop and ice cream parlour and certainly tucked into their fish and chip supper.

It was the perfect opportunity for the students to spend time together away from the classroom and just have fun together on a beach.

Evie-Rose (Year 8) said: “I loved the sandcastle competition. It was so fun to work together with my friends, and do something I really enjoy. I enjoyed the walk because it gave me time to talk to my friends. I loved the fish and chips which really added to the beach vibes. The shopping was great because it allowed some independence and I was able to get souvenirs.”

Anya (Year 8) said: “I really enjoyed the beach trip. It was great to be with my friends in an informal environment and by the seaside. The weather on the other hand wasn’t on our side which was a bit of a shame but did definitely not ruin the mood of the trip.”
