Mrs Whomsley (Junior School Eco Coordinator)
As part of next week’s British Science Week and an initiative launched by Surfers Against Sewage, our Junior School Eco Club has organised a TRASH MOB for every day next week.
This event is to encourage the whole school to be involved in ‘a spic, span and speedy clean’! Whilst we already have a weekly rota for each class to take part in a litter pick as part of our work for our Green Flag award, this activity is to remind everyone of the importance of being mindful of littering as well as giving us important information about any litter we find in the garden.
At the end of the week, we will review what we collected and sort the rubbish into the materials we find then analyse our results. The purpose of the activity is to provide a better understanding of single-use plastic waste and its impact on the environment. We will be sending on our findings to help with this important research.
