After a last-minute venue change from Cople Fields to the Sports Fields at BGS, due to the very bad weather, Year 8 were set to go for their team-building day run by the WiseUp Teambuilding Company on Tuesday. In  groups they  had a series of challenges to complete, from the ‘helium stick’ to the ‘stepping stones’. These activities were designed to test their planning, communication, teamwork, motivation, and how well they completed the tasks, and they were marked accordingly. The company running the day noted how well the groups persevered with this difficult range of activities. Well done, Year 8!

Charlotte (Year 8) said: “We had a good day; it was fun-filled with challenging activities. It helped improve our teamwork, perseverance, and motivation. We found the communication part of it difficult, and the activities we found challenging included the Human Knot, Changing Places, and many more. We really enjoyed having an outdoorsy day!.”

Mia (Year 8) added: “We did lots of different activities. We found the hover ball, helium stick, and gutter ball the hardest, but we overcame them all. We enjoyed the bridge, the stepping stones, and the skiing. We felt more confident with communication and teamwork after finishing each one.”

Isabelle (Year 8) reflected: “The day was fun and entertaining as we did many different activities and worked together as a team. Our favourites were the stepping stones and the planks because they were very challenging, but we persevered through them. We struggled with the rope activity, but we always found a way to complete it. Overall, we think it was a brilliant day and hope to do something similar again soon!”
