By Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)
Year 4 have been exploring the fascinating world of ancient civilisations with two incredible creative and informative workshops led by visiting experts. The girls learned traditional pottery techniques, including pinch pots, coil pots, and slab shaping, bringing history to life through art. Class 4A focused on creating elaborate Roman cineraries, while 4S crafted beautifully detailed canopic jars.
Drawing inspiration from their recent trip to the British Museum, the girls incorporated authentic design elements from ancient artifacts while adding their own creative flair. Although the final results are still to be seen after firing, the pieces already looked absolutely amazing.
The workshops provided an exciting hands-on opportunity for the girls to connect with their history lessons in a memorable and meaningful way. We can’t wait to see the finished masterpieces!
