27 enthusiastic Year 10 to Upper Sixth girls, most of whom are studying Latin or Classical Civilisation, enjoyed a memorable Classics trip to Italy in the half-term, led by Miss Brice, Mrs Day and Mrs Everitt.
Apart from a rainy first day, the girls enjoyed a glorious week of sunshine which took them from Pompeii to Rome.
The girls visited the ancient ruins at Pompeii and Herculaneum and climbed Mount Vesuvius, enjoying incredible views of the Bay of Naples.
Furthermore, the travelling party enjoyed the artefacts at the Naples Archaeological Museum, before travelling to Rome, where they visited the Colosseum, the Forum, Ara Pacis, Capitoline Museums, as well as the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. Naturally, much pizza and ice cream was consumed.
The final day of their stay was spent in the town of Ostia, which was full of stunning ancient ruins.
