Last Saturday's (28th November) Bedford Girls’ School’s Association Christmas Fayre once again proved a hugely popular event.
Vast numbers of shoppers arrived to be greeted by a festive Dining Room, with further stalls being spread throughout the main school. Festivities continued in the Assembly Hall which was transformed into a room of fun, with stalls run by the girls, creating a wonderful atmosphere. As ever, there was a successful second-hand uniform sale alongside all the Christmas goodies.
Elsewhere, the Sixth Form Common Room was quickly filled with girls, friends, parents and grandparents, all taking a break from their shopping and enjoying a cup of something hot and a cake to keep them going.
The festive feeling peaked later in the afternoon when the Junior School choir sang and by the end of the day it was standing room only.
Stalls on show ranged from glittering jewellery and beautiful cushions to candles, decorations and many wonderful Christmas gifts. There were plenty of delicacies to try as well as clothes for young and old.
The Association’s Joanna Dickson said: “Stall holders reported very high takings and with the popular raffle being drawn at the end, the afternoon drew to a very successful close.
“We’d like to thank everyone involved for all their help and special thanks must go to the choir, Miss Turner and Mr Atkins, as well as all the staff, girls and parents for contributing and attending. We look forward to seeing many of you at another event in 2016.”
