Yesterday (Thursday 21st January) the BGS French Roadshow visited Turvey Lower School.
Girls from Year 9 at BGS (Claudia Walton, Kirsty Stark, Islam Ali, Sarah Beard, Esha Rashid and Katie Lunn), along with Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Ms Kyle, hosted the roadshow for a group of 20 children in Years 3 and 4.
The aim of the morning was to create a fun environment and to build confidence by learning a foreign language.
The children had a busy morning, and in keeping with France’s reputation of culinary excellence, the topic of the roadshow was food. The children took part in a variety of activities in smaller groups and practiced topic-based vocabulary.
The morning concluded with a physical activity which involved all the children working together.
Turvey Lower School were presented with a French picture and vocabulary book to practise their newly learnt language skills.
