Yesterday (22nd May) the Harpur Trust held a Run and Fun Day at Priory Country Park as part of their 450th anniversary celebrations.

The event was set up to promote and celebrate sport, fitness, health and wellbeing and included taster sessions in various water sports, as well as climbing, orienteering, maypole dancing and live music.

The main event of the day was a 5k fun run, with Bedford Girls’ School Headmistress Miss MacKenzie and fellow staff members Miss Jackson, Mrs Fordham and Miss Dawson completing the run.

The BGS staff used the 5k run as an opportunity to raise money for a local charity, and the Riverbank Ward at Bedford Hospital, which is responsible for caring for children and teenagers from 0-16 years old. With the last few donations coming in this past week, the team have raised over £400 for this very worthwhile charity.

The team thank everyone for their donations and support.
