Our Sixth Form Young Enterprise students have worked with an external supplier to design a school-branded water bottle, to encourage the use of re-fillable water bottles and reduce plastic waste.

We spoke to the Young Enterprise Club, they said: “Our objective is to come up with ideas for products that we can sell, all profit is to be donated to our school charity, the Bedford Daycare Hospice.

Having watched Blue Planet 2, we were appalled by the amount of plastic in our oceans. In January, we came up with the idea of eco water bottles as a way to reduce the number of single use plastic bottles on site. This is in keeping with the Eco-Schools Programme; we wanted to contribute to furthering the schools eco-objectives.

From the initial idea, we then looked at suppliers, materials and costs, resulting in a design we believe reflects the schools image. We look forward to having the bottles distributed next half term.”
