Isabel Baker (Year 8)
On Tuesday, 15 Year 8 students attended the GSA Girl Power: STEM, Innovation and Entrepreneurship trip in Cambridge.
The morning consisted of a Dragon’s Den style activity, where we had to decide which idea being pitched to us was the best - we came out in favour of a smart heel designed to go in your running shoes, which counts steps. Next was a quiz to decide which STEM jobs we could consider in the future, followed by a presentation by people who work for ARM in jobs related to STEM. Our final activity was with another school, and together we completed a chain reactions challenge.
The morning was amazing, we all had a great insight into STEM and the career possibilities open to us, so thank you to Mrs Smart (Head of Science) for taking us all.
