The BGS Careers Department were delighted to welcome back Dame Alice Harpur School alumna, Annelise Milton for an informative Lunchbox Lecture on Wednesday.
A Captain in the British Army, Corps of Royal Engineers, Annelise left Dame Alice Harpur School in 2009 and went on to study Pharmacy at the University of Reading graduating with a Masters in Pharmacy in 2013.
Realising that a career in Pharmacy was not her desired career pathway, Annelise decided to swap life in the pharmaceutical industry for the army and has never looked back since completing her officer training at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst.
For the past two years, Captain Milton has been deployed in The Falklands helping construct military accommodation. Now based in Chatham, Kent, she has recently been involved in officer recruiting for her Corps.
Captain Milton delivered an excellent presentation highlighting the various roles in the army, but most importantly the fantastic careers opportunities for females ranging from combat roles to intelligence and communication.
