Last Saturday, The Association held their annual festive extravaganza - The Christmas Fayre. The school was filled with fairy lights and mince pies as over thirty stallholders gathered to sell everything from sparkly jewellery to chilli jam.
Parents, staff, girls and friends of the school crowded into the Dining Room and the Green Room as the sounds of the Eagle Choir opened the festivities, followed by a special Christmas broadcast from the BGS radio station. As ever, the fun continued in the Assembly Hall where the Junior School ran over 20 stalls making crafts, playing games and selling stocking fillers and cakes. The very popular tombola sold out, with over sixty winners, the Alumnae ran a treasure hunt around the school and parents flocked to the second hand uniform sale where takings reached record levels.
The Junior Choir performed to a packed Common Room and then Bel Canto rounded off the wonderful singing with a performance in the Dining Room. It was a truly wonderful start to the festive season and thanks must go to everyone who contributed to the occasion.
The Association would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during 2018 and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you at our next event, our joint Burns Supper with Bedford School due to take place on Saturday 2nd February. Please do apply for tickets without delay as they're selling out fast.
