Whole School Swimming

Mr Castro (Head of Swimming)

BGS once again produced fantastic sporting results in the pool at the annual GSA Swimming Gala on Thursday 6th December 2018, winning the overall title.

The gala was hosted at Stamford School and once again organised by BGS. This year there were entries from six schools: Kings High Warwick, Stamford School, Derby High School, St Mary’s School, Cambridge and Norwich High School. Due to the depth of swimming talent across the whole school, BGS were able to enter two teams for each of the age groups.

The U11 teams claimed wins in the freestyle events across both the A & B teams. The A team finished first overall and the B team finished third. In the U13 event, the A team won 4 events, finishing first and the B’s winning two events and three second place finishes, resulting in 2nd place overall.

In the U15 event, the A’s finished in fourth place and the B’s finished in second place. The U18 team had a huge number of top finishes and finished in second place.  It was a fantastic gala with all school fielding some very competitive swimmers.
