Miss Stuart (MFL Teacher)
On Thursday 24th January Years 8, 9 and 10 Spanish students were treated to quite a show when the Onatti Theatre Company came to perform El Viejo Saloon, ably assisted by Natasha Miller (Year 8), Maya Gandhi (Year 8), Emily Coton (Year 10) and, in the starring role of bartender, Locke Hollis (Year 9), whose fits of giggles kept us all entertained!
The two Spanish actors played a multitude of roles, involving some speedy costume changes, and were able to transport us to the Far West using lots of Spanish that the girls were able to recognise and help them feel confident in their ability to understand the language.
Sara Atab (Year 9), said: “I loved it! It was very funny and I learnt quite a few new words and phrases. I understood it well as the actors did not speak too fast. I am looking forward to watching the next one.”
Ishani Patel (Year 9), adds: “I really enjoyed the play as it was very funny all the way through. I could follow the story well and I think the student volunteers were an excellent addition.”
