On Saturday 26th of January, the U16 and U19 netball teams took to the courts at Stanborough School for the East Region Netball Schools Competition.

The National Schools Competition is the biggest schools competition in the netball calendar. At the regional round there are six pool matches and a semi-final, the East Champions and the runner up will go on to represent the East in the National Finals.    

Both the U16 and U19 teams played superbly with excellent defensive and shooting skills on show. The U19s played six games and lost three, finishing on 12 points and coming 4th out of seven in their pool.

The U16s won all six of their pool games, finishing on a maximum of 30 points. They played their semi-final against Woodlands School winning 10-5 to take them through to the final.

In the final, they competed against Berkhamstead School, who they had already beaten in the pool matches. The final score was 13-6 to BGS meaning they go through to the National Schools Finals on the Saturday 16th March as the East Region Winners.
