Miss Greig (Second in Mathematics)

Last week, the Mathematics Department celebrated Number Day with Year 7. A maths-inspired fundraising day for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPPC), the girls raised over £100 for charity.

During their Mathematics lessons, the girls took part in various number related competitions, going head-to-head with their peers. Their favourite competition of the day was playing the board game Math Magic. A little like Scrabble but with numbers, they had to create the biggest score possible with each piece they added to the board. The atmosphere was fantastic, as the girls competitive side came to the forefront.

It really was great fun and nice to see them so engaged! Also, for homework, the girls got creative and designed a poster advertising their favourite number. These are now displayed in the Mathematics corridor, please come down and take a look!
