Junior School

Next week sees the launch of the Duke of York’s Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (Idea) in the Junior School.

iDEA is an international programme that helps you develop digital, enterprise and employability, and the award aspires to be the digital and enterprise equivalent of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Through the series of online challenges, you unlock badges in a range of categories such as, citizen, maker and entrepreneur. These badges have points allocated to them depending upon the difficulty of the task and when you have collected enough points you earn your Award - a recognised symbol of your hard work, determination and skill.

At beginner level, you can achieve the Bronze Award; and when you have mastered the basics, you can work towards the Silver Award, which is set at intermediate level.

Mrs Crawford-Smith (Year 4 Teacher and ICT co-ordinator) said: “By launching the award during British Science Week, we are hoping the girls will be inspired to continue with completing the challenges in order to achieve their Bronze Award.”
